This scenario verifies interoperability when the target HOST is attached to the model network.

No Action Criteria Comments
1 Boot HOST-2. - HOST-2 should transmit NS for
DAD (link-local/site-local/global)
and MLDR/RS, and receive RA.
2 Boot ROUTER-1. - Router-1 should transmit NS for
DAD (link-local/site-local/global),
and RA/MLDR (AllRouter/RipRouter
/OwnSolicietd/SubnetRouterSolicited).
3 Boot ROUTER-2. - Router-2 should transmit NS for
DAD (link-local/site-local/global),
and RA/MLDR (AllRouter/RipRouter
/OwnSolicietd/SubnetRouterSolicited).
4 Boot HOST-1. - HOST-1 should transmit NS for
DAD (link-local/site-local/global)
and MLDR/RS, and receive RA.
5 Boot HOST-3. - HOST-3 should transmit NS for
DAD (link-local/site-local/global)
and MLDR/RS, and receive RA.
6 At HOST-2, run "ping" to HOST-3's site-local address. *HOST-2 sends ICMP Echo Request to HOST-3 (site-local).
*HOST-2 receives ICMP Echo Reply from HOST-3 (site-local).
HOST-2 receives Redirect (if required).
Both HOSTS select site-local address
as Source Address.
7 At HOST-2, run "ping" to HOTS-1's site-local address. *HOST-2 sends ICMP Echo Request to HOST-1 (site-local).
*HOST-2 receives ICMP Echo Reply from HOST-1 (site-local).
HOST-2 receives Redirect (if required).
Both HOSTS select site-local address
as Source Address.
8 At HOST-2, run "ping" to HOST-3's global address. *HOST-2 sends ICMP Echo Request to HOST-3 (global).
*HOST-2 receives ICMP Echo Reply from HOST-3 (global).
HOST-2 receives Redirect (if required).
Both HOSTS select global address
as Source Address.
9 At HOST-2, run "ping" to HOST-1's global address. *HOST-2 sends ICMP Echo Request to HOST-3 (site-local).
*HOST-2 receives ICMP Echo Reply from HOST-3 (global).
HOST-2 receives Redirect (if required).
Both HOSTS select global address
as Source Address.
