hi

this is Pramendra here. I got few queries about the I=
Pv6 protocol.

1. Is it possible that a NS and RS message size =
can very depending upon the imlimentaion (If any one is appending the other=
extension header before attaching the ICMPv6 header and RS message content=
to the IPv6 header) ?

2. or is it fixed, means we are bound t=
hat we should not attach any extension header for these messages?

3. If RS or NS message size exceeds the MTU the node fragments the pack=
et and sends it to any other node (I am assuming other node as router=
). Router should except this packet and should process it after assmbling t=
he packet or it should discard it?

4. If any router finds that=
after building the response for message total length is greater than MTU s=
hould it fragment it and send or should not send?

5. if we spe=
cifically talk about ICMPv6 Echo Request, say if a node is sending ICMPv6 E=
cho Request after fragmenting it(because payload is too long), should the t=
arget node(router) send all the payload back in reply after fragmenting the=
packet or should it put as much as
mtu is not met and discard the r=
est payload?

Thanks and Regards
